Membuat Internet Hotspot dengan perangkat Android

Jika anda punya sebuah gadget android dengan minimal versi 2.2 (Froyo) yang memiliki fasilitas wi-fi dan mendukung SIM card, maka anda bisa menjadikan gadget itu sebuah hotspot internet di lingkungan anda. Mari kita ikuti langkah langkahnya.

[1] Tentunya koneksi internet disini adalah artinya gadget anda memiliki slot untuk SIM card supaya anda bisa memanfaatkan jaringan GSM/WCDMA/3G/3,5G. Saat ini sudah banyak paket internet murah dari operator seluler. silahkan pilih yang menurut anda baik. dan pastikan anda bisa terhubung ke internet dari gadget anda.

[2] Aktifkan atau beri tanda centang pada “Data Enabled (Enable data access via mobile network)” di setting/wireless & network settings/Mobile networks.

[3] Masuk ke setting/wireless & network settings/Thetering & portable hotspot , Pada Port. Wi-Fi hotpsot settings, silahkan isi nama akses point serta password di “Configure Wi-Fi hotspot”. kemudian Aktifkan atau beri tanda centang pada “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot”.

[4] Sekarang Gadget anda sudah menjadi sebuah wi-fi akses poin. Silahkan konek ke internet dengan laptop anda.

Tips :
Untuk mempercepat akses ke internet, coba lakukan langkah2 dibawah ini.


Tethering Widget
Pada gadget, Anda bisa memudahkan akses dengan menginstall widget shortcut “Tethering Widget” di market android ( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.achmyr.android.froyo&feature=order_history ).



Widget ini memungkinkan pengguna untuk mengaktifkan fitur Thethering langsung dari halaman depan (home screen) gadget. setelah diinstall, aktifkan widget ini pada home screen (sentuh layar dan tahan, pilih Widgets dan pilih Thetering(small) atau (full).

Buat shortcut “Data Enabled”. Pada homescreen,sentuh layar dan tahan, pilih Widgets dan pilih “Data Traffic”.

Ketika shortcut “Data Enabled” dan “Tethering Widget” terletak pada homescreen, anda cukup mengaktifkan akses data internet dan tethering dengan menyentuh kedua shortcut tersebut.

Mengapa Android sangat pesat perkembangannya?? jawabannya tentu adalah “Dukungan”. Ingat, Google adalah raksasa internet super bonafit dimana produknya selalu menjadi perhatian. Ratusan ribu aplikasi telah dikembangkan oleh pihak kedua dan kompatible untuk android OS, Jutaan ponsel dan gadget lainnya juga telah menggunakan Android sebagai sistem utama. dan bukan hal yang mengherankan jika suatu hari nanti Android bakal menggeser posisi symbian sebagai OS ponsel nomor satu di dunia.
Seperti para penggila teknologi lainnya, penulis juga tertarik dengan Android, OS besutan Google. dan tentunya Android selain bisa ditemukan pada smartphone juga telah dibenamkan pada mesin lain seperti tablet PC, netbook/notebook dan gadget lain sebagainya.
Pada percobaan ini, yang tersedia adalah Android v.2.2.1 dengan kode sandi Froyo. siapkan dulu software dibawah ini:

Setelah download, install virtualbox dan jalankan ISO android.

Heran melihat gambar diatas??? apa tebakan anda??? benar.. Android adalah OS berbasis Kernel Linux yang telah dimodifikasi (Infonya disini). Jika anda menjalankan, mengkonsumsi Android. itu artinya anda juga telah menggunakan Linux. (dan faktanya Linux bisa merajai OS ponsel).
Pilih menu Live CD dan tunggu loading beberapa saat


setelah itu anda akan menemukan screen yang terkunci (locked), arahkan kursor ke gambar gembok, klik, tahan dan geser kursornya keatas.

anda akan masuk ke dalam home screen Android. klik pada menu untuk melihat isinya.
